I feel fashion is for all, it should not be based on religion but on the individual. fashion is a way express our individuality through our style. The clothes we were is a reflection and insight on who we are as individuals. As a muslim girl studying fashion, i am not only up to date with fashion trends but create new fashion styles for all!!

fashion is most important part of culture and culture is the most important part of Religion. it means Relegion has a huge impact on fashion. and Fashion is the way and style of life regardless of covered clothing or revealing clothing it is fashion in either case as it is trend in cultures and traditions. so Muslim women is fashionable any way and its upto her how much she wants to adopt to be fashionable or upto fashion standards of the particular region.

Well fashon is not at all a thing which a muslim women should not follow. she should follow it as this is the right of every women to be updated. Islam is not the religion which stop women from fashon.i have seen gals wearin jeans but with hijab around their heads.i think as long as ur body is covered when u r wearing jeans or watever is the in the fashion is ok

I don't see why not, yes i follow fashion and my faith doesn't stop me either. I feel that muslim women have a right to follow fashion whether they cover or not. But also it does come down to personal taste there are some women who wish to follow fashion more than others and thats their choice.

I feel, now a days there is a lot of confusion about the word "Fashion".I really did not get what really meant by fashion. If you look around almost 100% activities happening around in the name of "fashion" is nothing but vulgarity. If fashion really means changes in the style of dressing depeding on the time , region, culture etc there is nothing wrong if muslim women adopt it.Then also, her intension should not be to be an object of public attraction but her husbands attraction.A muslim woman should adore herself for her husband not for others.Regarding tight jeans small shirtEtc, there is a Hadeeth " Prophet has said, there will be a time, when women will be fully dressed but they will be naked. When i see some fashion dressing i remember this Hadeeth.

And I remember one more Hadit in it Rasool said, women who expose her body (by not covering, or wearing skin tights which shows her curves), will not even reach near to the smell of heaven...

Beware dear sisters.. Our life does not end here in this world...!!

fashion is very contempory and forever changing, while islam and many religions are constant and stable and i feel muslim women have no need to follow fashion but it is only natural to have a want to follow fashion.i beleive there is more of an emphasis on dressing a certain way due to the public being bombarded by the media to dress a certain way.

I follow fashion i cant see why muslim women should not be fashionable. The only thing that you need to remember is to be modest.

Fashion is not a must in terms of religion, it is there like many parts of culture, it's something we choose to follow. I do follow fashion, but purely because I feel I want to. Islam is not against it along as it doesn't go against the shariah (Islamic law). Muslim women should dress with hayaah (modesty) according to shariah.

As-salaam-aleykum

Muslim women like other women can be as fashionable, smart, well dressed and as glamourous as we like, BUT... inside our homes amongst our mahram and women folk. Outside the home we know what has been orderd for us by Almighty Allah and we should obey that order fully inshallah. Of course at home we dress up, and we can choose our own styles according to our own tastes and financial means and should not follow the whims and desires of popular culture. Our fashion styles incorporate elements of modesty and beauty refraining from extravagance and indecency, and unlike others we do not need to be certified by any so called labels as 'the best dressed'. Remember who is it all for?

The point of proper 'hijaab' is to protect and cover this fashion and beauty that Allah swt has given you and allow it only for those permitted to see it. Almighty Allah alone knows whats best for his creation, covering up completely and hiding our adornments and beauty outside the home, saves us from the many evil, malice and unwanted stares and reactions alhamdulillah.

We as muslim women should not feel the need to follow others, but choose for ourselves. We are in no need of the so-called fashion of today which does nothing to cover or protect a womans honour, more so it's skimpy and degrading, feeding nothing but the ill tastes of the men who which to see it. Our 'fashion' does not need an approval from the west or mainstream trends.

Sadly those people, Muslims or not, who are trying to 'glamourise' and make the Hijaab/jilbaab/niqaab shiny decorative, attractive and fashionable, are only going about to defeat its purpose. Its not there to enhance your beauty or to seek an approval, its their to protect, honour, and disguise our honour, with simplicity and modesty subhanAllah. Lets leave it that way insha'Allah. May Allah swt protect us all and keep us protected and honourable, Ameen.
